At our company headquarters in Landscheide, not far from Hamburg, one thing is clear: wood is very much at home here. And it’s been that way since 1889. In the time between then and now, we’ve learnt all there is to know about wood and this expertise has been passed down through the generations. Over the years, we’ve built up a wealth of experience that enables us to now develop solutions that address even the most challenging of requirements. We have never been as excited about this unique material and all of its impressive properties as we are right now. The best thing is that as technologies and processes evolve we can get even more out of these qualities.
In our modern production halls, we create customised solutions just for your property. And you can be sure that we will always follow the very latest standards. With our own glued laminated timber production facility, a computerised joinery machine and a timber frame production line, we complete complex projects with speed and efficiency. At every stage of production, our focus is on guaranteeing premium quality and environmental sustainability. All of our employees undertake continual training and professional development to make this possible. Whatever you have in mind, we will bring it to life for you.
Technical joining with speed and precision guaranteed.
Since we commissioned our fully automated joinery machine back in 2007, we’ve had so many more options open to us when it comes to the production of wood elements. Employees in our planning department send the dimensions required directly to this computerised system, which then takes care of all of the processing with precision down to the millimetre and absolutely no risk of chipping. There is even an additional inclination axis, allowing for a wide range of special machining options.

Glued laminated timber
We specialise in the production of glued laminated timber. Our family-run company has been certified to bond wide-span supports since 1966 – so we have had plenty of time to perfect our craft. News of our special talent has even crossed borders, with our glued laminated timber having been available on the market in Denmark since 2003, in Scotland since 2008 and in England since 2011.
Over the years, our glued laminated timber has grown nicely in size, too, and we are now in a position to produce supporting structures with impressive dimensions. The wide spans and outstanding range of forms are ideal for bright, open architecture on a large scale. We can use our fully automated pressing jig to create hugely varied forms with speed and efficiency. What this means for you is that you are free to think big. We will bring your ideas to life and make sure they have the load-bearing capacity they need.
The production of glued laminated timber.
By processing wood and turning it into glued laminated timber, we make it that bit better. We dry the boards and carefully get rid of any naturally occurring imperfections in the wood. The ends of the boards, which are now different lengths, are finger jointed and glued together. This creates slats of any length, which are then coated with glue and layered up before being pressed to form custom-fit and dimensionally stable beams. Once the glue is dry, the structural elements are planed on all sides and treated as required.
The varied forms of glued laminated timber.
The technical advantages afforded by glued laminated timber give architects and designers huge freedom. Our product can take almost any shape and the best part is that based on our experience we can bring any design to life with practically no limitations.
The advantages of glued laminated timber.
Glued laminated timber is a solid wood product that is ideal for structures with very wide spans and heavy loads thanks to its extreme strength and high load-bearing capacity. As well as meeting stringent fire protection requirements, its production process also impressively cuts back on the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere. With our structural wood protection, we also guarantee high durability – generally without having to rely on chemicals.
Say you want to build a house and choose to have the building site at our place. Well, that’s more or less how element-based construction works. The idea behind it is so simple yet effective. This is assembly-ready prefabrication – a huge step forwards, away from the traditional methods and towards an innovative wood construction system.
With our in-house production line for large-scale structural elements, it is no problem for us to create wood construction system walls that are the height of an entire storey. This allows us to really cut down on the overall time spent on construction whilst maintaining the same high levels of quality. Plus, we can up our game in terms of the functionality and customisation options we have on offer. The components we create boast load-bearing, insulating and sealing properties. We prefabricate them with windows and other household elements and can also add cladding to the interior and exterior walls as required.
After all, with wood hybrid solutions it is now possible to combine different materials within modern wood construction projects in order to benefit from their strengths. Leave it in our expert hands.
The advantages of element-based construction.
Speedy construction stage
As the individual structural elements are prefabricated, they just need to be joined together at the building site, cutting down on the construction time considerably.
Once the elements have been assembled, nothing will be wet, so there’s no need to waste time waiting for the walls to dry.
You take the lead on the appearance and layout. We will clad the wood construction system walls with the materials of your choice.
Flexible use of space
If your space requirements change, there is no cause for concern. Prefabricated structural elements can be adapted quickly to suit your needs at any given moment in time. Even if they’re already in use.
Excellent insulation properties
With element-based construction, the requirements for building shells to be highly insulated are met to the highest possible standard, keeping energy and running costs to a minimum in the long term.
Thanks to wood’s excellent insulating properties, the thickness of the walls can be reduced significantly. So, in other words, you will gain more living and usable space from the same building floor area. This is a particularly attractive plus when you have a smaller property.
Reduced CO2 emissions
When this renewable resource is used for construction, CO2 is stored in the wood, where it stays for the entire lifetime of the building. On this basis, a building made of wood sustainably reduces the amount of CO2 being released into the environment.
Smart Modular Building
Smart Modular Building (SMB) is our generic term for elementary, serial building in hybrid construction - the Schütt system for future-oriented building, so to speak. All of the potential opportunities uncovered by element-based construction are brought to full fruition in the form of hybrid Smart Modular Building. In this case, industrial prefabrication is not just limited to wall or ceiling elements. With SMB we are able to realize office buildings, multi-storey residential buildings and finished room modules from Tiny-Homes to Micro-Workingsspaces in a very short time. Boasting impressive levels of functionality and sustainability, these constructions are surprisingly flexible and offer plenty of options for customisation. The possible implementation concepts are also flexible. Depending on requirements and building type, different construction methods, supporting structures, ceilings, walls and facades can be combined.
We are confident that modular buildings made of wood are going to drastically change development within urban areas over the coming years. We have come on leaps and bounds from those fast room container solutions of the past. With benefits including a reduction in the construction time, the option to use rooms with flexibility right away, a customisable floor plan, and optimum environmental properties, this is a future-oriented solution. The individual modules can be dismantled with ease and moved to another location to start a whole new life cycle.
From one life cycle to the next: the Methuselah principle in modular construction with wood.
Assembly: quick and efficient.
Modular buildings are made up of rooms that have been prefabricated in our factory with efficiency and no reliance on the weather conditions. This results in speedy construction on-site, with assembly being completed in no time and with no hassle at all. There’s not even any need to worry about annoying the neighbours in the surrounding area with noise or other disruptions. And the best part is that the work will be completed on time and within budget.
Use: customised and flexible.
As soon as the assembly work is complete, the houses are ready to welcome their new occupants. We supply the individual modules complete with bathroom facilities and other household systems as well as noise and heat insulation. The design and layout can easily be adapted to suit any specific requirements and then flexibly changed in future should needs change.
Dismantling: straightforward and sustainable.
Modular buildings made of wood last a long time and hold their value – and this is true wherever they are moved to. One huge advantage they offer over standard buildings is that they can be dismantled and reassembled at another location, allowing for huge savings to be made on resources. They can take on the same form in their new home or changes can be made. And if there are no plans to reuse modular constructions, they are easy to get rid of, making the problem of abandoned and dilapidated buildings a thing of the past.
